NaNoWriMo is nigh... and THE FREE POSTCARDS ARE HERE

So the question is: where do you want me to put them?

What's NaNoWriMo?
A novelist's writeathon in November, so you can thrash out a first draft of your novel, 50,000 words in a month, and internal editor be damned. After all, you can edit a first draft, but not a blank page. (If you're a chap, you can grow your mo and write at the same time.) Online forums, meet-ups in your area, and general craziness keep everyone going. You can join in the NaNoWriMo party by signing up on the website here - all free.

And to support all the NaNoWriMo-ists, I've created this fabulous whack of postcard story goodness, which has just arrived, hot off the press. TWO THOUSAND OF THEM.

Did I mention there are TWO THOUSAND of them? Look at those stacks!

Yay! Where are the postcards?
I'll be caching stashes of free postcards in writery haunts all over Oxford this Saturday 26 October, so look out for them on the bars and counters of all places where writers lurk in corners and laptops hum. So far I'm thinking of: • Jericho Café on Walton Street  Georgina's in the Covered Market  the Albion Beatnik bookshop on Walton Road  the Jam Factory off Park End Road  Greens Café on St Giles  the new Café Brew on North Parade  the Turl Street Kitchen  Zappi's on St Michael's Street (and if you don't know his son's music, listen to this the Truck Store on Cowley Road  the Big Society on Cowley Road  Oxfork on Magdalen Road  G&Ds on Little Clarendon Street, St Aldates, and Cowley Road
If you have a favourite writing spot where you'd like me to stash some, tell me where in the comments, before Saturday, and I'll swing by like a good fairy bearing postcards.
If you're not in Oxford, you can still get postcards. Email me with your address and I'll pop a few in the post for you for the price of the stamp (until I run out of postcards, obviously).

This is what the lovelies look like, up close:

Plus the fronts are glossy, so you're even allowed to lick them.

Now - ask and you shall receive!
